Fall 2016 already? You know what that means; it’s winery season! (Plus all other cool weather activities, of course!) Brick & Portal took a last minute road trip out east and found plenty of places you should check out to welcome the season!
1. Kontokosta Winery
Enjoy your favorite wines while overlooking this gorgeous vineyard right off of the Long Island Sound. Kontokosta is the only winery with water views. Sip your favorite wine and walk around their beautiful property. Cheers to this perfect fall breeze!
2. The Orient Inn
We recommend your stay at nearby B&B set in a cute little village! The rooms are large and bright, clean as a whistle. Howard and Joan are amazing hosts (and equally amazing chefs), all in all - it’s a wonderful spot with nice rooms, AMAZING breakfasts, and homemade cookies all day!
3. Bayview Farms and Market
This farm is notable for its large pink tractor, as well as a huge variety of produce and other goods from snap peas to oysters and fresh pasta, (and even a bakery, too, yum!) Check out behind the farmer’s stand for a quiet sitting area that overlooks the vineyards or pick up your favorite organic produce and treats while you visit!
4. Lavender By the Bay
Check out this sweet family-owned farm for all things lavender! We suggest you stop by the gift shop for their lavender honey - it’s amazing. Don’t forget to share your Instagram-worthy pics using the hashtag #lavenderbythebay!
5. Claudio’s Seafood
This place has been around since 1870, and we know why! The delicious seafood combined with waterfront dining makes this place a must-see. Choose from any of their three establishments all facing the marina. Check out what’s happening live on Claudio’s Rooftop Camera!
6. The Sunset Beach
If you have time, we recommend you stay a bit longer and take the ferry away to Andrè Balazs’s The Sunset Beach for the perfect trio of an amazing meal with awesome food and creative cocktails, it’s breathtaking sunset views and steps to the beach. We like to think of it as The Hamptons meets the South of France.
