It’s almost time to wrap up Summer 2016! We know you might be experiencing the end of summer blues but have no fear, Brick & Portal is here! Keep reading to get a dose of our favorite NYC warm-weather gems to finish your summer strong and get ready for the fall!

Bryant Park Movie Night
Why we love it: Classic movies held weekly in the park for free. Can you say romantic? Our advice: Be sure to get there super early and come prepared! Bring a picnic blanket, snacks, bug repellent, a bottle of your favorite rosé, and a cute companion!
Needless to say, we’ve got your next date night covered.

Please Don’t Tell
Why we love it: PDT has a super secret entrance within a hot dog shop on St. Marks Place. When you see the notable hot dog hanging above the shop’s awning, go inside to find a false phone booth; dial the phone to get in! Pair the neighboring Crif Dogs with PDT’s selection of classic cocktails. Salute!

Pssst: If you like PDT then you’ll love these: Check out hidden bars we love like Raines Law Room, (Brick & Portal’s CEO’s favorite bar) for its classy dark ambiance and hassle-free bell system to call over your server, and Bathtub Gin for its food and awesome prohibition era-inspired gin cocktails, and the iconic bathtub in the middle of the bar that makes for a great Instagram pic.

Brooklyn Crab
Why we love it: The ultimate spot to satisfy your seafood craving while soaking in the industrial ambiance of Red Hook. Be sure to also check out the rooftop deck overlooking the New York Harbor. Hint: Don’t skip the lobster roll, mmm!
Pssst: Come by Brooklyn Crab tomorrow and look for Brick & Portal’s Co-Founder Coco. If you spot her she’s bound to buy you a drink!

Pier 25 Mini Golf
Why we love it: This 18-hole golf course is in the perfect location right by the Highline, and $5 a game (less than the cost of 2 subway trips) makes it an inexpensive date in Chelsea! It’s also a great way to spend the day with the family.

Pssst What’s Nearby: When you’re ready for happy hour, check out Grand Banks for gorgeous waterfront dining on the Hudson river, known for their delicious oyster plates. With their fresh and summery cocktails, you’ll feel like you’re back on vacation.

Why we love it: Everything you love about bowling plus drinks, arcade & table games, and laser tag! Bowlmor can be a great spot to amp up the fun on your birthday or just your average Tuesday. Either way, it’s sure to make you feel like a “VIB” (Very Important Bowler)!
Pssst: This may be Brick & Portal’s next team outing!

St. Mazie Bar & Supper Club
Why we love it: Cocktails, oysters & music, oh my! This adorable bar home to Brooklyn has so many lovable features. Try outdoor drinks in the scenic garden or the cellar for intimate dining.
Pssst: Don’t miss a beat on the main floor with the bar’s nightly live performances!

Shanghai Mermaid
Why we love it: Shanghai Mermaid allows you to indulge in an experience that transcends time and space in a theatrical party, where the location becomes a live stage and the guests get transported into the 20’s & 30’s era of countries around the world. The events are held throughout the city at locations only shared with a limited VIP list, making it one of the most exclusive happenings in NYC.
Pssst: Get on their mailing list for information about upcoming events varied with themes that immerse the attendees into worlds of Chinese New Year’s Dragon Ball, Oriental Express, Weimer Cabaret, Moonlight on the Hudson, and much more fabulous soirées.

Check out these awesome spots before the season ends. Who knows, you might even run into a Brick & Portal member!
